How to Announce Your Brand New Website

Your new website has the potential to gain a lot of attention. Use this opportunity to not only drive customers to your website but make them take action. Here are my top 3 recommendations for getting the most out of your new site launch.

1. Make a series of posts on social media before the site launches.

Build Anticipation. Remember to make it specific to your company and brand. For example, if your brand has physical products, instead of saying, "Stay tuned for a special announcement next week!", you could share an image on social media that says something like “Unboxing something new soon!”

Or if you provide a service like carpet-cleaning, posts leading up to the website announcement may say something like “3 days until something fresh!”

Be original and get them excited to stay tuned to see what’s coming!

Tip: Wait a few days to a week after launch to make the first announcement.
Yes, this can be tough when you've been waiting and are excited. This buffer is for any post-launch tweaks so you or your website developer can discover little changes to make before your visitors do. Plus, it gives you more time to get your audience interested in what's coming.

2. Make the big announcement... several times.

Your new website could be 'new' for several weeks or even a couple of months. Remember that not all of your audience will see your post on social media, and if they do, they probably need a reminder or nudge more than once to take action. Don't just make one post about it. Use this opportunity to build interest in your site and what you have to offer.

Send visitors on a mission. What's the purpose of your new website? Did you want to make it easier for customers to make appointments or to buy products? Are there special tools and resources that weren't there before? Are there new bio photos and blog posts?

Ask friends and colleagues to share your new site. Ideally, you have some dedicated clients, friends, and family that share your posts now and then. Ask a specific vendor or friend whose audience reflects your target demographic. A couple of shares go a long way.

Share a new headshot. Share a new bio photo and prompt followers to go read your bio to learn more about you and your staff. This works wonders and builds genuine interest and trust.

3. Five CTAs that are better than "Check out our new website!"

Remember to showcase a feature of your new site and give your audience a clear call-to-action.

  • "Bet you didn't know we also love to write- check out our new blog! Newly added marketing tips, social media news, events, and so much more."

  • "Our shiny new site is now live. Visit and sign up for our newsletter to get blog posts, updates, and special offers sent directly to your inbox!"

  • "NEW product release on our NEW website! Shout out to ________ for your hard work!"
(Tag anyone who helped worked on the project. They will appreciate it and are likely to share your post and reach a much wider audience.)

  • "Our new website makes shopping for [product/service] so much easier! We offer all PayPal and credit card options."

  • "Breaking news: Our website is so much easier to use (and look at)! Visit and sign up for our emails to receive an exclusive offer to celebrate the launch!"

Bonus: Send a special announcement email.
A much higher percentage of your email audience will see your announcement than your social media audience. Plus, they're your existing clients- let them know what has changed, so they're not lost when they come back to your site.

In summary, to get the most out of your website launch announcement. Remember WHY you have a new website, promote individual features, and prompt followers to take action over time.
